There is one taxi company in the Platanias area that has several taxis. If you want them to come and pick you up give them a call and arrange the place and time. (Keep in mind there is an extra charge for this) Taxis in Crete operate a meter system which indicates the amout of the fare. Its usually situated next to the driver and its in red letters.

During the summer (April to October) there are frequent bus services from Platanias and Chania. There is a bus about every 15 to 30 minutes. The adult ticket from Chania to Platanias costs 2.50 euros.
